Bookings & Payments

Open courses may be booked online by clicking 'Apply Now' on your chosen course and completing the Training Enquiry Form; by emailing / or by calling 024 7663 0333. We will require purchaser contact details and candidate details including any particular dietary requirements. Bookings must be confirmed with a purchase order prior to the delivery of the training or assessment event. New customers will be required to complete a new customer account form to enable us to set up a credit account. Payment by BACS is supported and MGTS will provide account details on request. Customers will be invoiced on completion of the event and standard terms are 30 days unless agreed in advance. Payment by credit card is accepted on booking or at commencement of the event by prior agreement.

Cancellation Policy

Where courses are under subscribed MGTS may cancel or re-arrange a course at their discretion. Customers will be notified no later than 10 working days prior to the planned commencement date. MGTS accepts customer cancellations without charge up to 7 days prior to commencement of training. Cancellation less than 7 days will incur a 50% course fee. Transfers to alternative course dates will not incur any additional charge to the customer.

All employees who are required to change Abrasive Wheels on various types of grinding equipment


The course is designed to give up-to-date statutory information on the latest legislation - Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 as applied to Abrasive Wheels


The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 require that information and training of workers in the correct handling and mounting of abrasive is necessary to reduce the risk of bursting.





On completion of the programme, participants will:


  • Have an understanding of the applicable PUWER Regulations

  • Be able to apply safe methods of mounting and working with abrasive wheels in general.






  • The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

  • Handling, Storing and Transportation of Abrasive Wheels

  • Marking, Testing, Inspection and Balancing of Abrasive Wheels

  • Correct Mounting of Abrasive Wheels

  • Dressing and Adjustment of Rests

  • Hazards Connected with Abrasive Wheels

  • Personal Protective Equipment Regulations

    • The Employer’s Duties

    • The Employee’s Duties

  • DVD - “Safe and Effective Grinding”


    Companies should check that their employees also receive instruction in all the particular wheels used in their workplace


    A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to delegates who satisfactorily complete the course.
