Advanced Engineering Apprenticeships at 3P innovation 

To work with a world leading company in Warwick who design, develop, manufacture, install and commission automation equipment used within a wide range of industries, such as Healthcare, Personal Care, Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals.

What characteristics are the people we're looking for likely to have? – You enjoy working with your hands, designing and making things currently. You have an interest in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, with some enthusiasm and evidence of practical skills. You may have been interested in doing an engineering degree, but decided a degree is too expensive, or you didn't quite achieve the A level grades you needed. 

In the short to medium term, you would be training to become a Technician Engineer, possibly leading onto becoming a Design or Development engineer in the longer term. 

This is a 4 year apprenticeship programme, with your first year spent training at Midland Group Training Services (MGTS) in Coventry.

Skills you will develop include: 

  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques 
  • Maintaining  Fluid Power Equipment 
  • Wiring and Testing Electrical Equipment and Circuits 
  • Preparing and using lathes for Turning operations 
  • Preparing and using Milling machines 
  • Producing Mechanical Engineering drawings using a CAD System 

Duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Work alongside a team of experience engineers providing technical support 
  • Work safely, with regard for your duty of care to yourself and to others who may be affected by your work. 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times. 
  • Keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company. 
  • Work with MGTS external assessor to produce workplace assessment training plans. 
  • Attend lectures, practical's and visits as per training provider learning Plan. 

Entry Requirements

We are seeking applications from candidates who have or are predicted to gain 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*-C / 9-5 for Maths and A*-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects. 

Training to be Provided

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence). 
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge). 
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)

Future prospects

Trained to become a Technician Engineer, possibly leading onto becoming a Design or Development engineer in the longer term with 3P innovation. Support for training, up to HNC level (possibly higher), may be provided.
