Information & Requirements

Supporting activities range from early concept feasibility, design and development stages right through to final preparation for launch and customers.

Duties may include working in a research and development environment, rapid prototyping, assembly and testing, validating and analysing performance, problem solving, material applications and manufacturing techniques.

This qualification can lead to paths such as Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Quality Engineer in sectors such Sectors include Automotive, Aerospace, Electronics, Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Metal goods and Other Transport Equipment.

Apprentice Product Design & Development Technician

A Design Engineer studies, researches, and develops ideas for new products and the methods used to make them. The Design Engineer will be working on a wide range of bespoke rotating machinery, couplings and test beds. These must be functional, reliable and safe to use, whilst ensuring that they are as cost effective and efficient as possible.

Annual Salary: £15,969

Hours: 37 per week, Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 17:15, Friday 8:30 – 12:30

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineering Apprentice

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your role is to provide a safe, high-quality, cost-effective maintenance service to site assets including preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance ensuring achievement of Factory Key Performance Indicators, targets and budgets.

Annual Salary: £19,000

Hours: 36 per week, Monday – Friday

Closing Date: 1st June 2025

Apprentice Machinist

You will be responsible for assisting in the operation of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines used in the manufacturing process of aerospace components. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will learn how to set up, edit and operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications.

Annual Salary: £15,488

Hours: 37 per week, Monday – Friday
