Earlier this year Adrian Simkiss (pictured right) was promoted from ‘Training and Development Adviser’ to ‘MGTS Customer Engagement Manager’. With over 15 years of experience of working within the engineering training industry at MGTS, Adrian brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
Adrian tells us… “I am excited by the challenges that the position will bring and look forward to working with employers to identify and solve their engineering skills gaps. As a TDA I thoroughly enjoyed working with engineering apprentices, watching them develop their skills and advancing within their organisation to positions such as Engineering or Maintenance Managers. In my new role I may even be working with them to recruit a new generation of apprentices.”
Adrian’s successor is another MGTS employee, Luke Bennett. Luke joined the company in 2013 as a Technical Tutor, specialising in Fitting and CAD. Prior to that he worked within the manufacturing industry and comments… “Moving from industry into a training environment was a steep learning curve, but one which I enjoyed. The experience gained at MGTS over the past 7 years can only benefit me in my new role as a TDA.
“There is a lot of information to absorb, but it’s great to have Adrian on hand for support during my induction period. I am looking forward to visiting apprentices in their work environment and understanding their job roles. It will also be great to have exposure to the variety of companies that we work in partnership with.”
We wish Adrian and Luke all the very best for their respective new roles!
