MGTS APPRENTICE AWARDS CEREMONY
SEPTEMBER 2009 – RICOH ARENA
MGTS Kim Biggins and Frances Lee finalised the arrangements for the MGTS Apprentice Awards Ceremony to be held at the Ricoh Arena for a second consecutive year. Frances commented that all concerned felt that last year’s event was a great success including apprentices, our employers and MGTS staff.
This year’s prestigious event will be held on Monday evening, 21 September 2009.
Geoff Rushton, who manages apprentices operations, said “I hope that we will build on last year’s success with over 200 people attending the event”.
As the finer details are finalised, Frances Lee has progressed arrangements for MGTS to be come a ‘Gold Sponsor’ with Coventry City Football Club. Lee Weatherly, CEO, is pleased to support the sponsorship initiative particularly the benefit offered by the promotion package that will be ongoing throughout the football season. The package provides pitch side, programme and digital score boarding advertising supplemented with engagement in Sky Blues youth activities and tickets for a range of games. Lee can see the potential of using the package to raise awareness of MGTS, attract young people into apprenticeships, reach parents and young people and offer incentives to current apprentices and our wider customer base.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive Ricoh Arena said “I am delighted to welcome MGTS into the family of partners at the Ricoh Arena as a Gold Sponsor for Coventry City Football Club. In addition to this, wearing my hat as Chairman of the Employment and Skills Board for Coventry and Warwickshire, I am extremely pleased to be working closer with Lee and MGTS who share my passion for the national skills agenda and specifically apprenticeships.”
