Archie is the Chief Executive of Redditch based Mettis Aerospace. Mettis is a £50m company supplying a range of forged components to aerospace companies such as Boeing, Rolls Royce and Airbus. In contrast, Andrew Churchill is manager-owner of J J Churchill Ltd. Employing 140 staff, the company is a family owned private precision engineering company based in Market Bosworth. Priding itself as market leaders, J J Churchill provide components and assemblies for aerospace, defence and high horse power diesel engines and lathe part off tooling.

Lee explained that MGTS will benefit significantly from the different perspectives offered by the new Trustees particularly at a time of economic constraint. He added that the MGTS Board of Trustees comprise of ten people who are or have experience at CEO, Managing Director and Director level within a range of engineering and engineering related companies. Trustees are responsible for representing MGTS member companies in setting company direction, establishing performance targets and reviewing progress against a range of key measures. Lee concluded that he is encouraged by the Trustees to increase the strength of the Board to ensure that effective succession planning is implemented throughout MGTS.
