UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE RECOGNISES MGTS CONTRIBUTION TO ENGINEER DEVELOPMENT
This year Cambridge University celebrates the 800th anniversary of its existence. To mark the occasion the University Student Union published a prestigious volume setting out in fifteen chapters and over 630 pages a perspective on the wide array of social and commercial entities which make up the importance of the University of Cambridge. The publication tracks the University’s history marking key milestones and noting leading students spanning the work of Sir Isaac Newton and Bill Gates, Chairman of the Microsoft organisation.
Bill Gates is referred to in Chapter 6 as a noted scholar. Chapter 6, headed Achievement in Education, makes reference to organisations who have achieved Beacon status. Lee Weatherly, Chief Executive, was particularly pleased that, having been awarded Beacon status in February, MGTS had the opportunity to be referenced along with such notables as Bill Gates. Lee is delighted that under Best Practice, Chapter 6, MGTS is listed as a Beacon provider. Further into the publication [pages 380 and 381] a full two page outline of MGTS achievements, aims and ambitions is printed for all to see. Lee added that he is particularly pleased that the substantive publication is to be circulated nationally and globally throughout the educational and industrial audiences.
