GIVING BRIEFINGS AND MAKING PRESENTATIONS IN THE WORKPLACE
 
 
Who should participate?
 
The programme is designed for personnel who are required to deliver briefings and/or presentations to work colleagues and want to improve their effectiveness and impact.

  • Select appropriate content and examples in line with the objective of the briefing or presentation
  • Logically structure the content of the briefing or presentation
  • Use appropriate presentation techniques and aids to enhance understanding of the content.
  • Present information clearly with appropriate use of graphs, charts, diagrams and pictures
  • Display confidence and keep to planned timings
  • Use feedback to check understanding by the audience
  • Develop an evaluation reporting format
 
The Programme will cover:
 
  • Selection of relevant information and demonstration examples as content
  • How to plan and prepare effectively for briefings; Purpose, Audience, Content, Form
  • Formal and informal presentation skills including platform techniques and visual aids
  • How to evaluate briefings/presentations
  • Use of feedback to check understanding
  • Reporting back to management after briefing
  • Methods of data presentation – tables, graphs, charts
 
 
 
Upon registration and successful completion of a work based assignment this training day may be used toward the achievement of unit accreditation from the Institute of Leadership and Management. Please enquire for further details.
