FIRE MARSHALL AND EXTINGUISHER TRAINING

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE:

Fire Marshal and Extinguisher training is a half day course for Personnel from any sector with responsibilities for fire prevention. It provides grounding in the essentials of Fire Safety.

PROGRAMME BENEFITS:

By the end of the programme, participants will:

· Understand the role of a Fire Marshal

· Understand the causes of fire and fire prevention

· Be familiar with current fire legislation

· Understand a range of methods of raising the alarm

· Be able to practically use fire extinguishers

· Receive the ‘Employee’s Guide to fire Safety’ Booklet

THE PROGRAMME WILL COVER:

· Fire Legislation

· Fire Hazards and Causes

· Classifications of Fire and Fire Spread

· The role of the Fire Marshal

· Methods of Raising the alarm

· Evacuation Procedures

· Fire Escape Routes

· Assembly Points

· Behaviour During an Evacuation

· Fire Safety DVD

· Practical exercise: What to do when a fire starts; Handling Fire Extinguishers; Removing the tag and pin; Discharging the extinguisher; The sweeping action; Depriving the fire of oxygen

Successful completion of this training will result in an MGTS Certificate.
