ASBESTOS AWARENESS AND MANAGEMENT

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE:

This programme has been designed to provide a Basic Asbestos Awareness training at this level and should be suitable for anyone involved in either building refurbishment or demolitionwhere their work will disturb the fabric of the building.

PROGRAMME BENEFITS:

This training is at Basic Awareness level and is intended to advise personnel of the dangers of asbestos, where it might be found in building materials and what to do in the case of accidental damage and subsequent exposure. In order that your company complies with HSE legislation.

HSE require that, “Asbestos Awareness training is given to all employees whose work could possibly expose them to asbestos”.

THE PROGRAMME WILL COVER:

Introduction to asbestos
Understanding asbestos
Health hazards
Current legislation & guidance
Legal limitations on work liable to disturb asbestos
Working safely
Suspect materials – personal responsibility for safety
Safe working in areas where there are asbestos materials nearby (RPE/PPE)
Emergency procedures
Accidental damage, general procedures

An additional charge of £11 + Vat per candidate per day will be made for the provision of a buffet lunch and refreshments which are available throught the course.
