Technical Skills Assessments - Engineer/Operators [Electrical]

The need for industry to maximise resource utilisation through multi -skilling has become a priority in the pursuit of productivity.

In order to support this objective within our customers businesses, MGTS have developed engineering technical skill assessments.

The skill assessment process provides an opportunity for your organisation to benchmark your engineering staff against a range of both theoretical and practical technical assessments including;

  • Electro/pneumatic diagnostics

  • Mechanical plant maintenance

  • Electrical theory and installation

  • Electrical inspection and test

  • Logical fault finding

  • Motor control circuits

  • Plus many other applications

Assessments can be tailored to suit specific company skill requirements, focusing on either a Mechanical or Electrical bias.

The benefits of undertaking this process include;

  • Accurate measurement of individuals competence

  • Development of a training needs analysis plan

  • Practical performance assessment

  • Benchmarking of engineers group skills/competence

  • Designed to meet specific client company objectives

  • Impartial assessment and feedback on results

On completion of the assessment reports are generated for each candidate which highlights performance in all areas undertaken. It also identifies strengths, weakness and any training needs required by each individual.

An overall summary is also produced which readily highlights where a company''''''''''''''''s maintenance skills lie and identifies any significant risk of “Critical Points of failure” to
the vital process support functions.

Mick Swan of Coors Brewers comments;

“Midland Group have provided me with a completely impartial assessment process and subsequently recommended follow up training to meet the needs of my company. This not only has saved me a substantial amount of time, but also my Engineers have come to trust the Midland Group approach and this has helped me build a trusting relationship between my Engineers, Coors Management & Midland Group Training Services“
