Abrasive Wheels
Who Should Participate:
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 require that information and training of workers in the correct handling and mounting of abrasive wheels (including pre-mounting and storing procedures) is necessary to reduce the risk of bursting.
Programme benefits:
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Have an understanding of the Regulations and safe methods of working with abrasive wheels in general.
However, companies should check that their employees also receive instruction in all the particular wheels used in their workplace
The Programme will cover:
- The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- Handling, Storing and Transportation of Abrasive Wheels
- Marking, Testing, Inspection and Balancing of Abrasive Wheels
- Correct Mounting of Abrasive Wheels
- Dressing and Adjustment of Rests
- Hazards Connected with Abrasive Wheels
- Personal Protective Equipment Regulations
- The Employer’s Duties
- The Employee’s Duties
- Video - “Safe and Effective Grinding”
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to delegates who satisfactorily complete the course.
An additional charge of £11 + Vat per candidate per day will be made for the provision of a buffet lunch and refreshments which are available throught the course.
