- NVQ Level 2 - Performing Engineering Operations
- Key Skills - Level 2
- Additional training in Modern Manufacturing Techniques and a project which involves planning, design and manufacturing
- Further Education - BTEC National Certificate 1st year or City & Guilds 2800 or EAL Intermediate Certificate in Engineering & Technology
Year 2
- Development and training in various areas associated with first appointment:
- Maintenance
- Assembly
- Machine Shop
- Engineering
- Production
- Toolroom
- Fabrication
- Commence NVQ Level 3 Training Programme Mechanical Manufacture or Maintenance
- Further Education - Completion of BTEC National Certificate or City & Guilds 2800 - Level 3
Year 3/4
- Further structured training in one of the following areas:
- Machine Shop
- Toolroom
- Fitting
- Maintenance
- Fabrication
- Completion of NVQ Level 3 - Mechanical Manufacture or Maintenance
- Further Education - To be determined by qualifications achieved in year 2 of apprenticeship
